I’m all about connecting people. It is frustrating when I try and provide a referral/introduction and the person acts like they don’t want it. Last week, I was at a networking event and I met someone who was a potential referral. I did my prescreen to make sure they were qualified.

Later that day, I called the person who would be interested and had to leave a message that I had a referral. Five days later, I called again. I finally got them live, and provide the referral information. The person’s response…”well, that would be okay if they called me.” (NO enthusiasm!!!)

I was floored. Wouldn’t you be excited if someone called out of the blue with a referral for you!!! I double checked to make sure that it was a qualified referral and they said yes. I didn’t get it. I’m not sure I’ll be sending any more referrals to this individual. Point is – take each referral and run with it. Show some excitement!
